About the Editor

Howdy! I’m Dev Castro. I’m a cat mom, a fantasy media enthusiast, and a hobby fanartist. More importantly: I’m your future editor!

I spent over ten years writing in a professional capacity—business proposals, contracts, standard operating procedures, the usual. Now I help indie authors develop their manuscripts into captivating fantasy novels.

I’ve been a fan of fantasy media my entire life, and expanded upon my passion by engaging with literary theory and critiques of the genre to learn about “the fantasy novel” and reader expectations (and when traditional conventions can be effectively subverted)!

I have also taken care to thoroughly study bias-free language and strategies to respectfully portray marginalized groups in fiction. I believe in principles of inclusivity and accessibility, and remain vigilant for opportunities to support positive representation throughout the editing process.

I am a member of the following organizations. The images are linked to my profiles for your convenience, when applicable.
